19 KAREN is a new contemporary artspace located at Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast, Australia.

We believe that early-career artists need to be valued, nurtured and given the avenue to progress, therefore our programs focus predominantly on exhibitions and long-term collections showcasing represented and guest emerging artists.

The warehouse-nouveau style arts facility boasts 380 sq. metres of exhibition space, and has the capacity to accommodate large group shows, or be sectioned off to conduct separate exhibitions, arts-related events, forums and private functions.

19 KAREN Pty Ltd. was established by Terri Lew and Mariam Arcilla as a proactive response towards providing new and engaging avenues for emerging artists, curators, artsworkers and the general public.

The artspace opened its doors to an 800+ strong public on August 2008.
